I hope there is enough humour in the above to temper the message. As I do think smaller at the bare minimum would be better.
Let's see what others have to say..
(p.s. It is a nice shot, know this. You handled the technical side of things well and the final presentation is indeed eye-catching. Thanks for sharing this one with us. :o))
Hi, Kathy...I'm happy to see that Les writes the same sort of commentaries on your postings too. I happen to like the border and I don't like all borders by any means. You really have mastered the "Kathy" technique of flower photography. I'm getting to the point where I can recognize a Kathy flower a mile away. The silky filtered detail work is magnificent. I agree with you about the colors. I wish the entire bloom could have been in the posting. Knowing you, it was way too big or the lady in the flower department at K-Mart told you that photography in the store was not allowed. And to quote Les, "It is a nice shot"
I use borders all the time, as you know, so I like it. It is simple and tasteful, in my opinion. Plus the color of the border and the the foofies are gorgeous, since I love orange. Very nice work, Kathy.
Gorgeous begonia's & superbly captured. You brought out their softness & beauty nicely. I would have preferred the image with less border & perhaps a slightly paler shade of orange or a deep dark orange. The almost square format works well too. Very well done Kathy ... these flowers surely brightened up my rainy day.
What border??????? Oh , that one? Just enough to segregate it from the blackness of outer space which would otherwise diminish the beauty of this awesome flower:) Beautifully done Kathy!!
Profuse and tumbling out of the frame. A lovely color they are too. I don't mind borders, but some find them undesirable. Just a matter of taste. I think there are times when a border is called for and times it isn't. Here it really is subtle in color and helps make the flowers look like they are trying to leave their container.
Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick.

Kathy, I too have come to the point of knowing your wonderful style of photography and presentation. I think the foofies are so beautiful and the color is wonderful. I will agree with les on the framing, it seems to compete with the flowers. I like frames, but try to keep it slight. I think in this case less would have been better, just my honest opinion. Tigs♥ =^..^=
Kathy I think the framing on this is just fine myself. I see what you were trying to do here with matching the colors and you did a good job. The image is bright and colorful. Great job Paul
'Ugly border.'
"It's not that bad."
'Yes, it is..'
