This was one hard bird to photograph. They are constantly jumping and hopping through the bush and trees. White-crested turacos live in some of the most forested regions of sub-Saharan Africa, from southeast Nigeria to west Kenya. Types of terrain occupied by these birds include open woodland, gallery and riverine forests. Fossil evidence dates the turaco’s evolutionary history back to the Cretaceous period, where scientists argue its branch-off from the cuckoo lineage. Turacos rank among the most colorful birds in Africa. I understand their red feathers are highly prized by some African tribes for ceremonial costumes. Image taken at Brookfield Zoo. A nice capture of this colourful bird Trixxie. In need of a little contrast perhaps to tone down the white, a little sharpness wouldn't hurt either. I do like the softness of your presentation, so chances are I like the photo as is. Great narrative for your image.
