This is my first post with my new camera that arrived yesterday. I bought a Canon G12 - which is not one of the super zooms but has many advanced features usually found only on the DSLRs. It's an easy to grab camera when on the go. This shot is a white hydrangea plant that's in my living room - shot without flash. This camera is supposed to have excellent low-light capabilities. All critiques and comments appreciated.

This is beautiful, Kathy. You will love that
G12. I have a G9, and use it when I don't want to drag the DSLR out.

A beauty of a capture with your new camera, Kathy. Lovely looking flowers with nice details and focus. I like how the focus softens towards the edges.

I love the purity and clarity of this Kathy.
The slight vignetting draws the eyes to the centre.
Beautiful.

Kathy - As evidenced by this image, you are going to like that G12. Others who have the G-series love it as a carry-around camera. Thad

Well, you have a great start with that camera. I don't think it will disappoint you. I too like the soft haze of the periphery drawing our eyes to this center of this lovely hydrangea. You must have lots of light coming in to keep one in the house. I love hydrangeas and have them about the yard, but never thought to keep one indoors.

Hi, Kathy....

Thanks for the link. You've made quite a debut as far as I'm concerned. I just love the silkiness and your use of light. I'm not sure how you are able to shoot white flowers in direct sunlight although I know you're a fan of filters although I'm not sure that any of them fit your new camera. I've used Canon for 40 years and have never been disappointed.
