I recently came across a large group of ranunculas in many colors so of course I began shooting. This is the first posting. These large ornamental ones come from tubers but there are over 600 species in the genus including some perennial ones like tiny vining Persian Buttercup. All comments and critiques appreciated.

These are just lovely. I have tried to grow these to no avail. They are so perfect in form. Well done, Kathy.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Looks to me, Kathy, like those Picnik borders are history. This one looks like a Picasa border. Looks like the vignetting barely spilled over onto the bloom at the bottom. Other than that, it's a heck of a flower shot. The textures remind me of thin tissue paper.

A lovely bloom you've found on your travels, Kathy. Good details and colours in the shot.
