This ranuncula was a challenge to get the true depth of this hot red color and not loose the definition in the petals. You be the judge. All comments and critiques appreciated. (Canon G12, 1/500 sec, F/4.0 15MM focal, ISO 80.)
I think you nailed it, Kathy. The vignetting and border are quite complimentary to the image of the flower. Naturally my only complaint is the slightly distracting bloom in the background that would be better in the twilight zone where pointless artifacts are sent when they're cloned out of a shot.
Kathy, the color is well captured, and we do see the details, I will agree with Rogdot about the flower in the background, but sometimes we just can't get the perfect position, I think this is a splendid capture of that beauty. Tigs♥ =^..^=
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
I'd say you did remarkably well keeping the color and the detail. Sensational blossoms so very well photographed, Kathy. I am loving these perfect blooms, just wish I could grow them. If the whole background blossom got into the shot, I'd leave it. I would use content-aware in photoshop to remove it if it is cut off as this one is or just clone it, but that foreground bloom is truly amazing.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
A very good job capturing the splendid-ness of the reds in the bloom, Kathy. Great details and sharpness in the lead flower and lovely lighting in the scene.
