This is the Callery pear originally from Vietnam and southeast Asia renamed in the USA. It is being heavily planted as it is rapid growing to the 16-26 ft. maximum. Unfortunately that rapid growth causes the wood to be somewhat weak so it does not always stand up well to heavy snows and ice storms. As you can see it was a beautiful day today when I shot this.

This turned out great with the sky as the background. Excellent exposure on the branches and blooms. Well done, Kathy.

Like the way the tree is striking against that beautiful blue sky, also the way the branches are like silhouettes with the blossoms showing them off

Kathy, referring to my comment on your previous post: this one could be seen at full screen size without any problem.

Very fine capture of this pear tree in bloom. The blossoms and the clear blue background perform a perfect match! Well done again!

What, were they fresh out of partridges the day you snapped this? Good colours, details and composition of the photo, Kathy. You could have done some pruning while you were there.
