Also known as wild perennial geranium - this was taken at the Chicago Botanic Garden. It was deep in a wooded area away from the main buildings.

When I saw the title "Bigroot Cranesbill", I thought, "Oh, my god, Kathy is posting a picture of a bird. If it were true and word leaked out, the NY stock market would crash. We're all very happy that it's another great shot of a flower, but this one isn't a rose. If I had any brain cells left from the early 70's, I would have a masters degree in botany by now from enjoying all of your flower photos. Another beauty. I especially love the colors. Anything green around here is a rarity.

I put this on my desktop and never stopped to comment! How rude of me! lol I have something like this in my garden, but the flowers are very small. Gorgeous vivid colors...beautiful shot.
