At the botanic garden, it's a long hike from the Enabling Garden where we started, past the lakeside gardens and now we are at the end of the lakeside gardens and approaching Evening Island. The tip of the last floating lotus garden is to the left and ahead is Evening Island and the beautiful carillon. Concerts are on Monday evenings in the summer and the Carillon chimes the hour which can be heard over all 385 acres.

This sure shows me how wonderful it would be to explore this place, but I'm a coward when it comes to driving around in Chicago. :) I'm enjoying this series, very nice Kathy. tigs=^..^=

Kathy, this botanic garden is already an earthly paradise, but with the sound of this carillon it has even a touch of the heavenly paradise.
Wonderful capture giving us a good impression of this huge garden. Well done again, my friend.

now THAT IS COOL! i need one of those, got this pesty guy living the next property over that likes to start trouble. that would grab his attention...oh sorry, got caught up in the momment.

you have some beautiful skies for this type of picture, I like the willow on the other side of the water you used to frame the shot...and what ever that subtle litte brush/leafy thing(that has the beautiful and crisp detail) in the foreground. you know me and my flowers/plants. just not good at names...but i like :) that bell/chimes tower is too cool. gotta fav!

I imagine them bells can be heard well beyond the acreage of the garden. Lovely lighting in the photo and a good capture of the scene.
