This is an early St. Patrick's day post and a Fx2 post as well. You can see there were two colors of leaf in these shamrocks - the green ones had the white blooms and the dark red ones had the light purple blooms. This plant is also called Oxalis.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

The division of colours afforded by the leaves in the background sets this image apart and elevates it.

Nice shot, Kathy.

And.. but, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us.

Very appropriate for the day Kathy and a unique photo of the two types.
I have a confession - I never knew oxalis was shamrock. I once nurtured a lovely patch of oxalis, delighted with the bright green foliage and pale lavender flowers. Then a friend diplomatically told me that 'some people' regard it as a weed but she did not give it a name. I didn't care, I still have it a corner of the garden and still like it and now I shall call it my Shamrock !

Happy St Patricks Day from me and my oxalis :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
