Common Name: Tufted Violet Perennial True to their name, these delicate-looking flowers are as pretty as "painted porcelain". The large, creamy white blossoms have upper petals which are infused with lavender-purple and deeper purple markings in the center. It blooms the heaviest from late spring to midsummer and often re-blooms again in fall. They do strongly resemble pansies which is what I mistook them for when I first saw them.

Thanks for both a wonderful photograph and the lesson, Kathy.
I thought 'something' to know about flowers, but I mistook them to pansies too. Thanks for the correction. One is never too old to learn, (and to view the beauty around us, ☺ )!

These are beautiful and my favourite colour for this plant - so gentle and with such pretty little faces :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Lovely shot of these violas - I too thought that they were pansies.
