Blooming now through August - this is a primary food source for the monarch butterfly. I've seen a few monarchs so far but I usually see more in August.
I don't think we have any Butterfly Diners like this around here Kathy. I haven't seen many butterflies in the last couple of years. I think herbicides has hurt their population. Good shot.
This is must for them, lovely color and I like the lighting, you handled it very well. I have only seen a few Monarchs so far this season, no pics. of any yet either. tigs=^..^=
I can see why the Butterflies would love it. Monarchs are so pretty. Do not see many here. We get alot of the Painted Lady and Tiger Swallowtails here.
Kathy, after reading the comments above, I would like to note the following: although no Monarch butterflies can be seen in my country, I sense a similar trend. Here too we have to deal with a decline in the number of butterflies. Numerous factors can be the cause of this. I think, however, that Tick has hit the nail on the head with his remark. It is a pity that these beautiful flowers can't fulfill their useful function, at least to a lesser extent.
