This was an interesting coneflower. At the early stage in the back left it looks like most coneflowers. But then at the later stage, on the right, the cone turns pink as well and kind of like a pompom. Despite its name there were no butterfly visitors that day.

Perhaps they were at a party in another neighborhood Kathy.
They missed out by not attending this one.

Kathy, think this will be changed when they've seen your image. The only problem could be that they don't know the location where this fine image was taken, 😜 !

Excellent shot to show the stages of bloom. Such a pretty variety it is. I would think it would attract the butterflies though.
