When we would drive to the train each morning ( I worked in downtown Chicago for 31 years) I would see the clouds pile up like mountains over Lake Michigan. The train station was just 2 blocks from the lake so I always had a birds eye view but never the time to get a shot as there was that pesky train to catch. I vowed to my husband that when we retired I would get a shot of Lake Michigan's early morning "mountains". This is that shot at about 7:30 AM from my 6th floor balcony looking northeast towards Lake Michigan. I even got a lens flare due to the angle of light - couldn't repeat that if I tried! You see these early morning but not later - I've wondered why for years.
Excellent entry for the contest should you choose to use it.
