The plant family of this flower is Verbascum all from the figwort group of over 260 types. We have had 11 days in a row of grey, gloomy skies, fog and occasional snow showers and drizzle. In fact 23 days in January were totally overcast so I went looking for some sunshine in my old files. This is a recent cultivar developed in England. Other mullein grows wild by roadsides here and elsewhere in the world.

We are all craving sunshine and colors Kathy. I'm glad you plucked this from your files.
Great shot.
Have a good weekend. We are supposed to have sunshine tomorrow.

Makes me think of the song and movie My Darling Clementine. It would have been good for SNATM

Kathy, although the temperature in my area maybe somewhat higher than yours, we have the gray and cloudy weather in common.
No wonder you've been looking for some 'sunshine' in the form of the beautiful colors of flowers. When I see your photo, I believe that you have succeeded perfectly. It also brightens me up. Thanks for that.
