This shot was taken 3 days ago. The red maple in front of my building, and therefore in front of my apartment, always turns somewhat early but this year I began seeing color change on top (I look down on it) in mid August and this is the colors in the top half of the tree now. There are a lot of these trees in my area but this one always seems to be the first to color up - it stands 30 ft. which is about as tall as these trees get.

Kathy, when I look outside I see that the foliage of the trees is also changing color, but not to the extent that yours is. This is probably due to the climate differences. On the one hand, the approach of autumn gives me a somewhat nostalgic feeling, but on the other hand I also enjoy the splendor of colour. Your beautiful photograph gives me a taste of that.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
