Nice shot vangoughs. We have milkweed & milkweed bugs on the left coast too. For me, even the adults are curiously un-photogenic, they just don't do much. The weird one is the milkweed. Many different insect species feed off it and many are either toxic or dangerous (the Tarantula Hawk). It seem to be the go-to plant if you're an insect that wants to toughen up.
