It was one of those lovely days at the beach! There was a low cloud causing a bit of a fog-like effect, almost laying on the sand and Ocean. But it was cool and crisp yes pleasant. The Pacific here at Cannon Beach is the nicest in Oct and Nov of the year, as that's when the Straights of Japan come rolling in. These monoliths are part of the Haystack Group of Rocks at this coastal town. It's always quite a view to sit and look at or walk near. When the tide goes out, there are wonderful tidepools to see and touch little underwater critters such as starfish, sea urchins etc..... Thanx for viewing and wishing you were all here to enjoy the sea.

I love the layering effect that the scene gives from the sky down to the sand. Wonderful composition Verena.

I'm glad to read that this is fog and not sand. I was thinking that there must have been quite a wind blowing that day. It looks like Couples Only Day at the beach. Very striking image, Verena.

Nice title. Very friendly like a special greeting. "Lo, Fogz"
"Hi, Tidz" or is it Tigz? Anyway a great photo that went straight to favorites. Those two majestic rocks (Laurel & Hardy) I presume, really add to photo and give perspective. Does look like couples day. Hope they all belonged to each other. Very good Verena.

What bizarre conditions, this is a really nice shot. there are too many people though, and either a single pair of people or no one at all would have been better. They distract away from the absolutely amazing conditions and serenity of the low cloud. the colorus and lighting are great though!
