As you all know this is my favorite place, the wonderful Pacific Ocean at a time of sunset. I want to thank you all with all my heart for the kind words you've shared with me since my Mom's passing away. I learned so much from her of course, but the special things I inherited are my love of nature and flowers, my being able to do oil paintings, to be able to cook as she did! When we came from Germany I was only ten years old and she instilled in me a love for words, so later in life I am able to write poetry and a book I am working on. She cooked special foods, mostly German ones, always! Oh the fruitcake and cheesecake! She made sure I would love traveling and classical music too. My Dad gave her a good life. I have never seen such care as he had for her. It's a rare thing. I am so proud to have had her for such a long time, even tho we always lived very far apart, we spoke on the phone and wrote many letters. I am sad to lose her, yes, but I know she had a good long life. So I thank all of you again for your care and such sweet kindnesses and all the prayers. The people here in caedes are like a second family to me. I'm glad I "found" you all. Love right backatcha!! Verena
