I am finally moved in a bit more and have been taking photos of my paintings. So this is a canvas painting that I did of a photo with the permission from PhotoImagery. I just really enjoyed the little bird, it was the first time I ever did a bird. Please comment and critique if you'd like to. Thanx so much for taking a look.

Nothing has more appearance of freedom than something with wings. Yet, somehow this bird is restricted by the fence and barbed wire. Time will be patient as fate will either educate the bird to exercise its freedom to fly or to condemn it to remain.

Excellent painting Verena. You're certainly very gifted artist. To me this painting with the bird in the middle with the overhanging barbwire and the fence below gives a impression of a person trapped in dilemma and grief. But the bright colours in the background signify positive thoughts. Just MHO.

I think I have the original in my wallpaper cycle, and have always loved it! This is incredibly and equally beautiful to the original, and I'm so proud of you that you took on the task of painting a bird! He's finely detailed and I also like the colours given to the background, which really brings forth the tree, barbed wire and fencing! Superb work my friend! Saved to enjoy longer :)
