The Mighty Haystack Rocks at the Pacific Ocean

This is the group of Haystack Rocks known all over the world. This picture I took from the South View. Most people do the North view for some reason. They Haystack formations are located just off Canon Beach, Or. The big Haystack is a monolyth. I took this photo from a high hill near the rocks.The Coastal Range is in the background with hazy clouds above. Please enjoy these wonders and any comments are always welcomed.

Its a great view! It nice when the tide is low enough to be able to walk out to that rock! Some really cool tide pools out there. Love this beautiful Oregon coast shot!

You're right...Paul...when the tidepools are there, it is so awesome to see all the little kritters in the water and be able to touch them and watch them. The weather is perfect right now too.

A fabulous coastal view, Verena. You've really captured the drama of the sea, along with the misty view of the far mountains and the wonderful clouds. I wonder if these are named after the fell Haystacks in the English Lake District.
