Rob, this is wonderfully fanciful with the soft focus and the illusion of this being out in the middle of nowhere. I would expect to see fairies popping out at any minute. Very well done and this was only a test, not a real alert? :)) - Patty

Yes. This was only a test. Had this been a real photograph you would have... Well, you get the idea. I was so excited to have gotten a new camera I had to run down to the river and try it out. I believe this one was taken in portrait mode, that's why the depth of focus is so short. Glad you like it.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

Viking-boy, I saw this one in your gallery after I decided to have a peek following taking a look at Killdeer. Again I wasn't certain what I was going to be confronted with. But this is another simple and excellent shot. To catch the butterfly the way you have indicates strong talent and a good eye. I look forward with excitement to seeing more of your work here.
