This is what I was after when I took my previous Mockingbird shot. (more of him to come later). this is a good example of why swans are difficult to shoot, especially in daylight. The feathers towards his tail and wing tips are blown out. I tried to reduce my exposure compensation to -2 (I don't think for this shot though) to help but I didn't get any single shots quite like this. (there were two of them - I was outnumbered)

A valiant good effort, though, Rob, AND you saved me the chore of having to critique your pic..lol....I love the feet paddling in the water :)

it's still a great pic, despite all... the neck almost looks to be covered in fur.. the feathers are lovely. i love the feet as well.. :)

You are so right Rob...white tends to wash out in bright sunlight. Saying that you have done very good with this image...you have a good deal of detail...gerry
