"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
Not sure about the equation ("music corrupts, absolute music corrupts absolutely"?!) but it is surely a terrific image. Certainly _this_ music seems to be some sort of powerful force - a whole new meaning for "being swept away by the music", perhaps?
I like the idea here of the music having a life of its own, of the music drawing on mysterious and powerful forces or shaping them to its own will. I think the composer here must be responsible for a lot, though, the poor musicians look as likely to be carried away by it all as anyone.
I am honoured to be listed as a friend or to see an image of mine as a favourite, but I keep lists of neither. This helps me appreciate images uploaded by strangers as well as friends. Please understand that a failure to reciprocate in kind indicates a lack of appreciation for neither gesture nor work.
All of earth is crammed with heaven And every bush aflame with God But only those who see take off their shoes. - Elizabeth Barrett Browning<p>
