Hmm, I have to say that the interest factor in this image is high for me. And I can't really explain why.

This is a prime example of a time when I wish I could have you here as I view, to answer the questions that come to my mind. Were you experimenting with techniques? What is it that you are trying to convey with this image.

As is, I find it very thought provoking and I think would make an excellent companion illustration to an editorial or article.

One suggestion though, and a minor one, I would try to remove the outline that is, for example, more prominent around the thumb area. There are some other areas where your added effect has created a 'ghost' outline. And it is my humble opinion that the depth and sense that is presented so well overall could be improved. Just ... a suggestion.

I will say it again, and echo the above comment ... highly original and interesting. Nice work.
