This is part of an elevator or lift used at Fort Flagler on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. Construction on this fort started pre WWI, and the fort was closed after WWII. There were two versions of these lifts, one to raise the actual shells, and the other to raise the powder. This is a darker version of the original bw that I like better as a desktop background. Thanks for looking.

I think it's kinda creepy but I like it. It reminds me of those ghost hunting shows or underwater shots of the Titanic.
