We don't have the aurora borealis here, but there was a very unique effect in the atmosphere that was so beautiful on the clouds. The blue in the fore is snow and ice. Had to walk on water to get this one, too! Taken before dawn one cold winter morning last year.

Superb shot Hilda! Beautifully presented here. Looks like the upper atmosphere is on fire, which is a little scary... Beautiful and well done capture of a moment in time... :o)

Walking on water now, are ya? I've heard of that, but not for about 2000 years. LOL. I must admit...that sky is very beautiful. You have a wonderful picture of the Aurora Notboringatalliss. (not boring at all (iss)) Sorry...just one of my corny jokes. Great shot, Hilda.

Now I'm interested in this, because doesn't walking on water come with turning water into wine?

You held onto this for a year Hilda? It's stunning. One of those right time right place pictures for sure but you earned it with all the getting up before dawn you do. This is just fabulous and into faves.

Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.

Truly a magnificent shot Hilda! The contrast of the icy foreground and the fiery sky is splendid - well done for achieving such a great result.
