my father-in-law, who is 96 years old today and one of the most amazing men I know. I admire, love and respect him so much! He served in the Navy during WW II so I made it a point to get to this war memorial while we were in DC for our US Get-Together. I reworked this following some suggestions I received for WW II Memorial, DC. I had intended to post this on his birthday and when I found out about the Curves contest I thought it might also work well for that.

Brilliant! The stark black and white really does wonders to this. As you know, I liked the original, but this, this takes the cake.

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

I'm not a big fan of B&W, but in this case I have to say that I think you did an excellent job of a rework for the contest, and definitely as a tribute to your father-in-law.

Thanks for sharing some of your personal history with us.

Good luck in the contest.

After putting the images side by side, I like the changes you made. The slight rotation and change to cooler tones, which seem to be more fitting for the monument, work really well. A lovely tribute to your father-in-law ans a great contest entry.
