And yet another photo from my recent trip to Mt. Whitney. While I tweaked this a bit in photoshop by adding some vibrance, this really is how it looked in real life as the Sun illumiated the mountain. It only looked like this for a minute. I took this, turned towards the sun to get a picture of it rising, and when I turned back, the beautiful reds and oranges had already become whitewashed. On another note, I was rather annoyed with myself that I accidently took it at 1600 ISO. I had been shooting lower light shots of the sunrise but had forgotten to set the ISO lower as it got brighter. So there is some noise in this photo :( Oh well.

Still what a beautiful shot. I've done that before too...set my ISO for one set of shots and forget to reset, but you pulled this out very well :)

Yes you have to be fast to capture that magic light Jon! wonderful contrasts between the mountains and the sky!! well done! I often forget to change my ISO and sometimes I get good results! lol!
