I really like the depth that you created here.
And admittedly, with the power of suggestion from having read the above comments ... I do see the satin-like quality and texture to your flame here. A very nice additional element to your render.
Not necessarily a crtique here ... curious as to what you might achieve with a different background colour. The mood and feel would change of course ... and that may not be a bad thing ... just different. My thinking here is, unless one has a properly calibrated monitor, the woes of this being too dark are going to be heard.
I like it as it is. The ambiance of the piece is definitely kicked up in my mind with this presentation.
Sophisticated ... would be the operative word I would choose to describe your image here. Nice work.
