The Parthenon (Greek: the parthenon ) was a temple of Athena, built in the 5th century BC on the Acropolis of Athens. It is the best-known remaining building of Ancient Greece, and has been praised as the finest achievement of Greek architecture. Its decorative sculpture is considered one of the high points of Greek art. The Parthenon is an enduring symbol of Ancient Greece and of Athenian democracy, and it is regarded as one of the world's greatest cultural monuments.

I've seen lots of shots of these ruins and this one is unique. Nice job of composing it against that rich blue sky and the depth you've captured in the details. The angel draws interest well. anne :-)

I love this monument. Its the story of humankind and civilization. It is a great pitty that Italian Morozini-it is said that he was jew..- destroyed the temple when he shot it with heavy artillery against the barbarian Turks! We do not forget that English thief "Lord" Elgin,FOR TEN YEARS he cut the temple in pieces to take them in England! Only a BARBARIAN could make such a crime.Anyway,..excellent photo.
