As all my photographer friends know, an old trick for getting that misty, ethereal look in the era before digital photography was to smear vasoline on the lens. I'd hate to be the one who had to clean that crap off! My high school art teacher, Mr. Philips, told us stories in class of what he and others used to use to get specific effects. I think we have it so much easier now. This is a fractal translation of what those old lenses would have looked like, I guess. Have a great weekend, everyone! And thanks in advance for stopping off and leaving your thoughts and comments.

This has a nice dreamy feeling to it. And subtle understated colours! And I like the way the light intersects in the middle. Very, very nice composition!

I like the effect, Toni, and particularly the "rings" in here that shift off-center in varying degrees, creating distinct transparent shapes. And the subtle spots, and not-so-subtle highlights of color as well. As simple a piece as it looks, at first glance, there is so much more going on in here; it's like a "sleeper" indie movie that you watch several times, to pick up on all the cool intricacies you missed the last time you watched it. A very elegant piece, Toni. Pat yourself on the back. Into my favorites, thank you.

:) Ha, I prefer my images crispy, especially if the alternative means cleaning up the lens! Fascinating image, very hypnotizing.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the layers upon layers of different shapes that gives this wonderful creation such depth, Toni! Peaceful muted colours and delightful little hints of purple lights. I also like the placement and concur with your analogy to a camera's lens. Well done my friend! Faved+
