I can not take credit for this picture, but wanted to share it with you all. I did add the text as it says how I feel when I fly. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

To me there's nothing all that special about the photo itself. It has some nice colors but can't compare to many of the good sunrise/sunset shots on Caedes. I'm not sure that adding text makes this shot more or less worthy of a posting. Sorry to be a poop, but there are shots on here by NASA of the Mars rover that are posted by folks, and I don't understand that either. To me, Caedes is a forum for submitting and commenting on people's photos in order to help them improve as photographers. But that's just me. Maybe the next critique will hale this as the best thing since sliced bread.

I don't entirely agree with Roger (above) as there is at least room for valid critical evaluation of the artistry involved in the style, size and composition of the text. Adding text does alter the overall "balance" of a photo, which might then render the latter needful of some changes. In this particular case, I don't honestly think that the dull green "airliners.net" adds anything to the picture, nor indeed does the dull greenish grey grass it is superimposed upon. To my mind, the picture would be more dramatic if both were cropped away close to the runway. The text "Slipping the bonds of earth" does convey some artistic sentiment and adds a nice extra dimension to the communicativeness of the image. The font size is fine, but I do think that the odd style of the font is not necessarily best - it distracts attention too much from the image itself, which is after all the main point of the composition. So, on balance, some nice ideas, but I think they could be improved - and as Roger has indicated, it would be far better if you submitted your own photograph and not someone else's. Lastly, may I point out that there are copyright issues in using someone else's photograph. One assumes that full permission has been given by the owner for this usage of their photograph, but if so then it would be best to confirm this. If, however, you do not have permission to use their photo in this way, then you should delete this without delay.
Hope this helps.

I much appreciate all the comments I receive about my images, but please excuse me if I don't always reply. My interest in Caedes is exceeding my time available!

A fine photograph that is spoilt a bit by all the script, I do hope your not in breach of copyright.

Was hoping you would see it from the pilots view and not the photographer. Guess i will not post this kind again. Just wanted to share. Sorry.
