This is Flathead Lake 2008. The water level is lower than normal because of the incredible snow fall in Glacier National Park... It will melt... In view are Malita, Dream, and Wild Horse Island. The closest and the farthest are main land. I was sitting on the same rock I used to sit on 20 years ago and watch the sunset. When I took this picture. It was an evening of calm, gentle tones. I still think of it from time to time.

I think this is a great photo, it's well balanced, there's plenty of detail in the darkest areas but the lightest areas are entirely properly exposed. It is soft but it's soft everywhere and it suits the mood of the subject. It has that high iso texture at the largest size but there's nothing anyone can do about that. I think it warrants a better c-index than it got but a lot of Caedes voters do like their dramatic landscapes to exclusion of all else. :)
