I used to roll my eyes when people told me about such things, But I now realize the lack of literacy and mass produced books created a necessity for pictorial teaching. Thus things like stained glass windows and strange parallels between various plants and religious teachings. Today we can carry access to a world of knowledge in sound and pictures in our pocket yet wisdom is still a rare and precious commodity.

You got that right David! Wisdom is rare! Ignorance abounds! I was one of the unenlightened for quite a while until I started going to the sources. Great photo here and thanks for the history and knowledge on this beautiful flower! Allen

Lovely capture David! I have never seen one of these in person but have always thought of them to be quite unique. Thanks for the reminder and wise words! Well done!

Nicely done with the darker background an subtle vignette bringing out the colour of the flower.
