I observed this wasp burrowing its nest in my yard. The hole in front of it is its nest. All the little clumps of dirt around it is what it has excavated from the hole. It disappeared down the hole repeatedly bringing back with it each time an arm load of soil in its curved front legs.

Critique is gratefully accepted. Thank you.

Good sharpness on the subject and enough dof to let us see what he was doing. I am trying to figure out how much an arm load is to a wasp. lol

Hi, David,

This would be a brilliant shot if I took it. But this is not as sharp as your fly shots from a few months ago. However, if I took this shot, you wouldn't be able to tell what I was shooting because I would have been standing about 30 feet away and there would have been quite a bit of motion blur. This looks to me like you were right down in the dirt with this youngster. You have a steady hand and more nerve than I do.

Dotty.

P.S. Happy to see you posted again.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

David...

I'd listen to Dorothy. She seems to know her stuff.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
