" The Ruy Lopez (also known as the Spanish Game) is named after the Spanish priest who analyzed this opening in 1561. Nearly half a millennium later, the Ruy is now one of the most popular chess openings" (Edward Scimia)

Many thanks to WSenkow who kindly let me know I had the pieces arranged incorrectly in my previous posts.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Who wins with this opening, the white or the clear? Does either side have an advantage with these moves? A very fascinating game, Chess. My husband taught me to play, but it's no fun because he always wins! lol Wonderfully perfect post again, David.
