Mooresville Cemetery.
I suspect this tree was planted about the same time as the two people in front of it.(mid to late 1800's)

Mooresville is the oldest incorporated town in Alabama (November 16, 1818) Current population around 60. Disney filmed most of "Tom and Huck (1995)" here. If you see the movie try to spot the telephone poles. They are the funny looking trees close to the road. They camouflaged them with bark for the movie.

A moody picture David and a narrative to match.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

When viewing the thumbstones, think that the burried people are forgotten indeed. Not that strange because the burial may have taken place about 160 years ago.

Good capture, DP.

That's like the car going by the cornfield in the first LOTR's movie.
Seems so odd to find two tombstones in a forest, but as you said, the tree wasn't there at the burial no doubt. I just wouldn't want to be there at night. A little spooky feel about it. Interesting find, David, and I like the darkness of the setting with the light just beyond.

An interesting capture of this old burial ground. A nice perspective in the shot. Good clarity and focus work.

The difference between a bad artist and a good one is: the bad artist seems to copy a great deal; the good one really does. ~William Blake
