Yes... my wife and I (for over 42 years I have fooled her into thinking I was 'good enough'/'better than that for which she could exchange me'!) This was her choice of image for my Journal page. Self-portrait taken in Nanaimo, BC (Vancouver Island)... tripod & self-timer. I have deleted the other! Ahhh! Eventually I'll get some Journal text in here! Like a little now... I am not a photographer by any stretch of anyone's imagination... I simply enjoy taking certain photos and definitely enjoy collecting those that appeal to me. One thing I know... I know what I like! That does not mean I can't learn new tricks... in photography. It just means that I must agree with what I am told. You are most welcome to give me direction! :o)
Yo there! Nice to meet you! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such nice comments on "Reflecting on Shadowns!" I value the feedback a lot! Wen
Hello Con..I appreciate very much your comments about my photos for the Costco Contest...it is called "Give us Your Best Shot" and all they ask for is any of our own photos that we feel is a good shot from things such as vacations, a person, something exotic or something ordinary..I know that leaves a lot of room. They do judge on sharpness too...but other than that it's whatever we each decide. I just wanted to get some professional thoughts from the people on caedes, I value their opinions a lot. But the FINAL decision is the one I will make. It's a nice fun and interesting thing to take part in for me, and of course besides the notoriety of Costco using my photo is great along with the $ prize..thanx for your interest..I will let everyone know what happens..Verena
The bad news is time flies...the good news is you're the pilot!
I just have to ask you....since you mentioned Chilliwack..have you heard of Olive Frederickson? She wrote Silence of the NOrth. A wonderful true story of her life in the Yukon. I met her in person one year..I enjoyed your photo with the rainbow..verena

Thanks a lot for the comment on the Pacific Ocean picture. That sun spot you were talking about, call me crazy but I like it there, haha. I actually go for that effect quite a lot. Sometimes it would be better to try to have it not show up as I'm sure it takes away from the image. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Con, thanks for the comments on 'as Seasons turn'. Yes you should post a photograph of your snowy landscape!! Patti

Kia Ora Con, many thanks for your kind remarks on my Christmas image :)
Just had a nice browse through your gallery - you have some good stuff in there :)

Hi Con, glad you agree that the "Purple Thistles"
add a little splash of color in the foreground. To me it gives the picture a more gritty realistic look. If it flops I can always return to Plan A rename it and mow down the thistles. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment!

Thanks Con, for the very kind comment on my gallery and "A Natural Kind Of Beauty" I just wanted to step it up in the camera dept and I got a very good price on the old one. I would have kept it otherwise. sandi♥
Thank you for your comments on my image Desert Sunset 1! I truly enjoy our deserts, and am lucky to live here in the San Diego area. Within two hours I can be at the beach, the mountains, the desert, in Mexico, or heaven forbid, in Los Angeles.
Thank you for your comment on my image Harris Fire of 2007; you're right - in asddition to the image, it is also a colossal monument to mother nature's vageries and to (to some point) the stupidity of mankind.
Thanks for your comment to one of my Austria holliday snapshots :-)
You had to think of O'Bob, well i can tell you i did the same when i shot this image.
Been here for a couple of years now, and since then, i can not see a bench and think of him GRRRR hahaha, thanks again for your comment and hope to see back sometimes at my gallery.
Hi Con. Thank you for leaving that idea on my picture (Victor). I brought up c-index ideas a way long time ago (when they first switched to the voting booth method of voting). But I think my idea(s) weren't popular, or really that they mattered at all. Can't say I blame them for hearing it as just general whining. If I were a better photographer or contributer, perhaps it might have carried more weight. But they have happy users with more joining, so what do I know. Nice gallery, by the way! cheers, Quiet

By the way.... if I don't thank you by message or post, I doesn't mean I'm not truly grateful for your comments and suggestive insight in regards to my posts.......
Thanks a lot for your kind comment on my Niagara shot.

Kia Ora Con, thanks for your favourable comment on my elephant picture, it is much appreciated.
Borders are a debatable thing so I am glad this one was acceptable :)
I often add a border purely to bring the image up to a standard desktop size. Other times I try to compliment the image which I would be the first to admit is not always successful.
Anyway, glad you liked the elephant :)

thank you for the comment on feathers at the river side im glad you liked it.
i would have rendered it in widescreen if you had asked.
i still can if you want
Hello Con ! thanks for your kind reply to one of my Switzerland images.
Some editors needs years to learn, so i have stuck with my old editors, one of them is even 10 years old :-) so, it would be a waste to inform anyone how it works. If i would have to start over with a new program, i would take P.S. since it has it all in one program as where i use 3 or 4, each for a different effect.
Best regards,
Thanks for your constructive criticism on Three of a different kind. I thought it was pretty good considering the speed and altitude those planes were traveling. If I were to brighten the photo, it would make the clouds seem too bright, taking away the focus of the planes.
Hello Con, thanks for your comments at "Walking away". Generally I will clone out the wires but this time they seemed to add to all the elements present. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!
Much of the beauty in life is found in people who care.
Thank you for your comments on "Sweethearts". They are much appreciated.

Putting your pictures in my favorites is the highest honor I can give you. If I could, I would give you an award. But alas, I cannot. So the highest praise I can award you with, is faving your artwork.
Hello Con, thanx for your input about the current contest photo taking. I like to learn, but feel lately my photos aren't what they should be. Guess we might all have times like that. I enjoy your photos very much. Thanx again for your comments. Verena

Hooray, somebody who knows how to comment. Really liked your input. Yes, it was tilted slightly. I played with it in PS and got it level-to my eye. Yes, Lyn Eve was right, less sky is much better. One of these days I'll be able to see these things BEFORE I post. Ha!
