Chris, I do not like war. In reality it is a hard world. My country has been attacked, something we didn't ask for. If we don't fight back most likely will see a repeat of 911. The flag only a symbol, the lion only one of my painting. What you read into this photo is someone I do not wish to be but history has a way of repeating itself. Thank you my friend for your comments. Please stop back and look at somemore of my paintings and you will see who I am.

Refinery sunset: Thanks for the comment. The "flames" from the refinery are not just flames, but diffraction of the sunlight though the hot gases.

"What other reason could there be to get up in the morning except to set ourselves free." If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Chris, thank you for the comment on Volver a Toledo! The technique is called "tilt shift", which gives the feeling of looking at miniatures, because the depth of field is so small. I do extra editing in Photoshop to extend the focus to make sure I capture all of the important centerpiece, which in this case was the Cathedral of Toledo.
