"La Mer Vipere" was the name of a night club that the friend of my parents owned, here in Chicago, during the 80's. It means "The Sea Serpent/Snake" I believe. :)

Yeah, "La Mer" is french for "the sea". I thought it might have been from a Nine Inch Nails song. So where about in Chi-town do you live?
