I got the idea as there was a competition on Caedes, and the topic was love...
at the time i was experimenting with landscapes and terragen, so I mixed the two and got a result like that

As far as the idea is concerned, I had just finished an imaged called Dreams of Color and went to the kitchen for some coffee, looked outside and it was still snowing (January was one of our coldest months in Montana this year), so I went back to the computer and added several summery looking layers to that image until it became Dreams of Summer. So I guess the idea came from the fact that I was really tired of winter by then. :D

P.S. I am STILL tired of winter. Here it is, nearly JUNE, and I haven't been able to turn the furnace off yet! Sigh.....

The water is part of the Yakima Valley Irrigation Project. At this time of year the reservoir is full, in the fall it has lowered quite a bit. See “Receding Water Line” to see what it looks like in the fall.
