Congrats on getting a digital camera. I was looking at some Olympus models before I bought my Sony. The main reason I got the camera I did was that it's one of the few in the market that use (8cm) CDs as a storing media. I bought it so I could take it with me as a travel camera and couldnt afford to get the larger memory cards for ordinary digital cameras. (I had 10 gigs worth of photos when I came home from my vacation last summer...) Anyhow: I'm looking forward to see what you will come up with! :)
Thanks guys! Though I may need some advise from time to time on editing photos...it's all new to me. After looking at everyone's marvelous photos on this site, it inspired me to be a little artsy myself (a big departure for me!). I should have my hands on my camera in the next day or so and plan on bringing it to DC/Virginia with me this weekend to try it out.
Hi Teresa, thanx 4 commenting on 'facade'. creativity & its products are beautiful things that are good , in my POV, so i would imagine that it can be used to ward off evil, its all symbolic anyhoo. the whole ceremony involves an assault on the senses with incense, flowers, food, colour & sounds. but most importantly the presence of family & friends is the key. it is how any mental health problems are dealt with traditionally(so i left...hee hee)they are seen as demonic possessions which is faught by a dancer wearing such a mask.: ) i should stop ranting.!! thanx again
The zoom of my camera is 6x and in this photo i was very close to the birds.... perhaps they thougt i was a friend.
In fact i am a Nature lover.
As soon as possible i´ll put more birds on Caeds.
Thank you, Teresa, for your remarks on Painted Lady. I went through six different renderings to get there. I like Whirly Twirly (and Rosemary and Bee)!

hey..thank you for the comment..i'm glad you liked it and certainly appreciate it. it was a somewhat personal photo for me to post..i guess how i felt at the time is communicated through the shot
Thanks Teresa for your comments on "A good day..." and "Padstow Harbour". There was indeed a cold wind blowing that day (Sunday), but out of the wind the sun was warm - spring is definitely on its way :-D. And thank you for your continuing encouragement and support - it's always good to see your icon appear under a picture!!
Thank you for referring the adobe site that has the free 30 day trial. I downloaded it, and am learning alot. I'm still far from knowing alot but learning none the less. Thanks again.
Thank you for the comments (and lesson) on Birds in the evenning.
I like the composition just it is and it´s good when two persons think in a diferent way.
My intension was put birds all over the pic, so...
Thanks again Teresa.
Thanks for your comments on Floriade - I did it all in Moray a 3D modeller - the surface of the"blob" is chrome textured to reflect an image map sitting above it.
Thanks for thecomment on "Cover Up" Teresa! I did do some touchups...added some blur and darkened a wee tad to soften the light;-) I love the soft light feeling!
Thanks for taking another look at Meramec. Wish I would have spelled it correctly. This site has inspired me to set the resolution up on my camera and quit taking just snapshots.
Thanks, Teresa, for commenting on my yummy new icon. Yes, I searched far and wide, high and low, for a burger this juicy looking. To quote Homer Simpson, "MMMmmmmmm.... "
Thanks, Teresa, for you nice comments on 'Early Spring Flower'. I actually used the palette knife filter, but greatly dimished it to retain the smaller details (sharper) and the contrast.
Glad you enjoyed 'Old Fishing Boat', Teresa! No palette tool here; lots of histo stretching and sharpening, plus the embossing filter. Prep of the photo took about an hour, including reshaping the sky and working on light, contrast and palette. I resized and flipped for desktop icons. HERE
