I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm really into photography (mostly black and white) and I love painting so I'm soon getting some of them up. I love all your work, very beautiful.

u have some truly amazing photo's posted on this site..though i'm sure i dont need to tell you that eh? keep on postin'!
Steb, thanks so much for your comments & support! It's people like you that produce such wonderful photos that inspire me to keep trying to capture the occasional good shot. ;-)
Thanks for your comments on «What a rainbow»
I will try to take a pic with your sugestion but i have a automatic digital camera ( Fuji finepix s 304) and maybe i cant do that.
I will try.
Thanks again.

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more
--Lord Byron
Wow looking through your gallery is a real treat. I look forward to seeing more pictures from you. I just got my first camera ever at the age of 21 and hope to be able to take pictures of that caliber some day
Steb, Thanks for the info on the camera you use. I jsut bought a Canon 10D last week. Have a 75-300 lens for my old 35mm Canon F1 & EOS 10s but that lens is slow. I doubt I'll ever be able to take such great pictures as yours. Will continue to look forward to your posts and perhaps gain some insight along the way. Again, Congrats on your fabulous photos.
Thanks for the thoughtful comments on the Dune at Sossusvlei. I think it was Dune 45. Beautiful place - the great sand sea...not so different from your ocean. Just a lucky shot, taken in the late afternoon, near closing time for the park. Unless you camp out or sneak in early, late afternoon is the best time to photograph. Other times the light is too bright...there are no shadows.
Hi Steb, thanks for commenting on (How Do Ya Like Them Apples?). The only tripod I have is a tiny little flexible one, which is good in some situations but not so much for shooting down on things from above, or for most macro photography in general. This shot was pretty well lit so I thought I could get away with a quick hand-held exposure. I think the fuzziness you speak of is mostly concentrated in the bottom-left hand corner so I think it's more of a focus-issue in super macro mode on my camera. I liked the color so much I decided to post it anyway. Thanks for the interest~
Hey Steb - I rowed at the Ohio State University. It only last 2 years because it started to interfere with my studies. Thinking about taking it up again - they have several clubs here in SF. I just have to decide if I want to wake up at 4:30 - 5:00 am to row (he, he).
Steb, Thank you for the kind words on "Seronera Sunset". It has been a great experience to post several photos on caedes.net and receive positive comments and helpful suggestions.
Hi Steb, thanks for taking a look at Blued Together. I messed up an image beneath that curtain and decided to go for simple and workable desktop instead.
Thanks, Steb, for your kind remarks on Fireworks. 8^)
It was long exposure with a dark filter in front to make sure I don't overexpose. This was actually scanned from an old slide but I'll be able to duplicate that in digital form when I get the Canon 300D and reuse all my lenses and filters. The modern compact digital camera are works of wonders but there is only that much you can do when you can't change lenses or use filters. ;^)
Hi Steb, thanks for your message. It was only my eyes that is the problem. It is a very good pic but I find my eyes wanders around the empty seats and make me feel a little dizzy. Very odd. 8^)
i have never heard anything more true ... thats a truly wonderful story and one that i will carry through with me for the rest of my life ... i have all my GCSE's coming up in the next 2 months and im already tired of revising but that story has given me the encouragement i need, thank you!

I now you talk to so many on the site ,you wonder.
steb thanks for the comments on "spoonage" and "wind shield"... in answer to your questions..... well i'm sure no scientist, but name IS derived from chemistry class... and about the high speed photography.. i can't say that i am really influenced by one person, but i have always been intrigued by that sort of thing. well thanks again, i really appreciate your taking the time to comment ;]
p.s. what did you mean by your comment on "wind shield"?.....
Thanks for your comment on "Rite of spring", Steb - I use reference books to find out about the flowers and insects I photograph, but I'd never have thought of the Kama Sutra.... ;-)
thank you so much for all those wonderful words to my work (i am watching you), i really appreciate your opinion. i never thought that my photos could be so much appreciate by other people ,as myself thinks that my work is not good enough to be seen, because it is not perfect in my point of view.. thanks for your support , hope to hear from you again...:-)
hi steb , thanks for taking the time to view my new images , i am glad you enjoyed my «green_yellow_white» image.well the original it looks quite the same ,they were some blur spots and the best way to remove them was to make some changes to it , and for that i used the paint effect and the result is what you have seen.:-)
thanks for showing your interesst in my «strawberries anyone!!!» image , i am glad you enjoyed it. to answer your questions , yes there is only one layer of strawberries and yes they are the first of the season. thanks for your visit and hope to here from you again.:-)
hi steb , thanks for your kind remark on my « gardenia » image , i am glad you liked it.
i also appreciate your opinion on my « ceramic tile » image , thanks for taking the time to enjoy my images.:-)
hi steb, thanks for your advice about contrast on my "quiet jaby" pic.
i'm looking forward to see your website http://steb.com.au/ : will it be "under construction" for long ? ;-)))
Thank you for the encouraging comment on (Summer Shade), Steb. You were right, this was in fact taken in Connecticut, in my father's childhood backyard (my grandparents still live there in the summer). I'm a big fan of your photos so it's very nice to hear such encouraging words from you. Thanks again!
Hi Steb.. thanks for your comment on red bottle brush... glad u liked it... the reference about macdonalds was a joke for someone on here who always goes there.... take care... Jacqueline
Thanks for your comment on "Rainbows", Steb - this was one occasion when digital really came into its own as I was able to run off 20 or 30 shots in the couple of minutes the rainbow lasted, then pick the best one :-)
Hey Steb - yes, the water is a bit colder where I come from! Thanks visiting my gallery, and yes, "Superstar" is a self-portrait, glad you liked it. :o)
Steb, what equipment did you use to shoot the skiing? When I last shot ski jumping here in Calgary, I used two 1D bodies with a 500mm f/4 and a 70-200 f/2.8, and one 10D with a 24-70 f/2.8. I found for myself that this setup worked the best, as most needed focal lengths were covered.
Now that you mentioned the feel you were going for in that shot, I agree that the space does help.
Thank you Steb for taking the time to view and comment on my Dragon Fly 3 photo. I'm glad you liked it. This was taken with a Minolta DiMAGE S404 digital camera in closeup mode.

We must try to view the world with our minds eye on occasion.
thanks for your comment on calla lily. what i did in editing was fairly simple, i ran it through neat image, and did curves to turn down the already darks, and brighten what was already bright in the flower. about the soft focus, i was shooting in really low light, without a tripod, so i did my best to keep it still, and it isnt blurry just fairly soft, although the efect might partly come from the anti-noise program it went through
Thank you, teb for noticing, Demanding Food. The shot was made with a Panasonic Lumix Digital camera. I call it my Lummox. My confession: I enhanced it with Paintshop Pro by boosting the contrast by 25%. It seemed to make a big difference.
Thanks for your comment Steb on Where I want to be... i appreciate it... :) it may look like it was painted a 100 years ago... but was painted a few months ago... :D... as for being a noisy waterfall... i could handle that no problem.... ;D
