Thanks Darryl for your support. Nice to meet a wood-worker on the net. As you see above I'm also a "wood-worker"...and a viking (Workers in the world - unite!!)
Thanks for your comments on "the spindle" I'm glad that you like the colours I chose. I really like them too, almost reminds me of elements combined like fire and water and earth. Well I'm getting carried away now, thanks for your comments!!
Arne, thanks for your kind comments on several of the shots in my gallery. One of the things I like best about Caedes it the "global vilage" aspect of sharing photos and exchanging coments with people from all over the world. Thanks for stopping by and noticing my photos!
Mike
No, Arne, I don''t look like a bird or dress up like one, despite my Caedes logo. But there is a place not too far from where I live with a walkway which crosses a large marsh. The birds there are somewhat accustomed to seeing people and are not quite as shy as elsewhere. I also bought a long lens and a good tripod. Digital cameras are wonderful for photographing birds, because you can shoot a lot of pictures quickly with no cost for developing them. This lets you capture the birds in unusual behavior or postures and a few of the pictures are worth posting.
Hi Arne, and thanks for commenting on The Family Hobby. I think you are correct that digital photography is revolutionary. Inexpensive film cameras have been around for a long time, but they lack the immediacy of digital, and the freedom to shoot as many pictures as you want. I've certainly learned more in about 6 months of working seriously with digital than I did in 10 years shooting film.
Hi Arne! Thanks for the comment on "Cutting Edge Desktop". I still have all my fingers as well. Just one small nick in the skin one time...never again, knock on wood;-)
Hello Arne! Thank you for taking the time to view and comment on my image. I'm glad that you liked my Chocolate Ice Cream 2 photo. This just popped into my brain and I had to capture it before the events of the day washed it away.
Russ
The pleasure's all mine. Youve got a fantastic avatar tho. The exquisite design/engineering of early viking ships are renown for withstanding harsh weather conditions. I wonder what do present-day ships hafta say ;)
Thanks, Arne, for commenting on my efforts. I've been to Stockholm .. Sort of .. It was in a computer game though, so things are probably a lot bigger now. You probably don't bump your head.
Arne, thanks very much for your comments on Cattail Sunrise. I wish we had some colors like those here now...bur all is brown and gray! Also appreciate your comments on Pemaquid Lighthouse. It is an amazing place, and my photo hardly does it justice.
Hi, again, Arne...thanks for commenting on Maple 1. I appreciate your taking time to look and comment...glad you liked it..there is another one, but I'm attempting to prolong my memories of Fall and avoid giving in to winter, so it may be a while before I post it ;) .Mike
Ännu ett foto från vinresan är uppladdat. Kanske ett till på gång. Försöker skriva en "story" kring bilderna också för att göra det lite intressantare. Och så måste jag hitta en ikon..
Hi Arne. A nice surprise to see you in my gallery and even nicer to hear what you had to say about "Accepting Our Differences", "Glassy-Eyed" , and "Going Home." I admire your work and your eye for different. Your visits were an honor. Thank you.
Thank you, Arne. You are very kind. I really enjoy this site - so many nice talented people. And I do like many of your works. My favorites are: Winter again, The stable, Horses beyond the apple tree, A tasteful harvest. Hope to see more of your works.
Hi Arne... thanks very much for your comments on Liquid Gold, Galaxy and Ghost of Christmas Future... im very pleased you liked them... I have a lot of fun creating them and trying to make them different to what others are doing... and dont feel ashamed of not seeing my work.. there are so many great art works on here its hard to keep up... :D
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

Hi, Arne, thanks for taking a look at Almost Winter and making time to comment. Very happy that you liked the shot. We get a lot of foggy mornings in the Cuyahoga Valley, so I have a certain amount of practice shooting in the mist. But none of that automated stuff on the camera was designed for fog, so I usually end up doing manual exposure and focus...Mike
Thanks for the comment, you encouraged me greatly. I know it isn't exactly impossible to determine who is waving, but I threw it in there just for fun. *goes back and deletes it* :-) As for the "Iron Lady", I don't recall who that is. I know enough about politics to recognize the president, and I rarely know the state governor's name. (Hey, I can't vote, so why should it matter?) ;-) Thanks again!
Hmm, the name sounds slightly familiar to me. Maybe... It is of interest to me; I don't think that presidents are very good at their job if all they do is ignore old friends and cancel treaties. I am no politics guru or obsessee, but that is my view. Do you agree?
Thank you Arne for viewing my Mystery image and posting a comment. The secret is that it is India ink dropped into a fish tank filled with water with the lighting on the background paper. The image was in B&W and was scanned into Photoshop, rotated 180 degrees, given a sandstone texture and added some color.

Thanks Arne for your comment on Listen To Your Heart.. im glad you liked both the pic and the poem.. and yes it came from my heart.. :D... i write a lot but have had writters block for a couple of months.. so this is the first one back..
Hi Arne, good to hear from you. Obviously I've been busy digging through boxes of old slides and learning to use the scanner. Will get around to your gallery to look for new stuff in a couple days. Thanks for commenting on Grand Canyon Sunrise. I'm glad I got up early that morning!
Hey there Arne, thanks for commenting On A Clear Day. As to the colors, they're as close to reral as I could make them, given that the slide is rather old. I believe they call this area "The Painted Desert". I grew up in a woodland / agriculture environment, probably not too different from southern Sweden. The first time I visited the Grand Canyon, it literally took a couple days for my perceptions to adjust to the clear air and the brilliant colors in the rocks.
Arne, It is nice to see you "ringing the bell" on my images. But if that was my first 'ten' it is no wonder my images struggle. So, do the Swedes make good beer? If you were to make beer barrels instead of buildings you might have more beer. Lots of beer is necessary to vote high on my pictures.
---Yes, you too can have a snazzy Holiday Icon like this, just step outside, face southwest, and holler at the top of your lungs .. "Hey, Avatartans of Aussieland, Help me." ... and somebody will be there shortly, it may be the police, but it may be the 'AoA' representative for your area. ... really.
Thanks Arne for viewing and commenting on my On Golden Pond 5 photo. The fish was the hardest part of this image to manipulate. It took a while to get it to look like it was under water. The fish is my Billy Bass fish. The leaf is my Maple Leaves 2 photo.

Thank you Arne for viewing my latest image. I'm glad that you liked my Raindrops on a Clear Tarp photo. This was a black and white lithograph negative print that I scanned in, inverted the tones and overlayed some blue. The original photo was of the underside of a clear tarp after a rain shower.

Hi again Arne... thanks for your comment on Fire in the sky.... glad you liked it.. and yes it does look like an oil painting... i dont know how that happens.. there are a few that has the same effect.. :)
Hello Arne. Thanks for viewing and commenting on my Rattlesnake photo. I'm glad that you liked this image. Even though there was a barrier between us it still is kind of scary being that close to a rattlesnake.
