I have looked at your gallery, and I like what I see in the s. You have captured some really amazing shots of nature, yet there is only so much you can do.
Someone told me a while back to attempt to avoid the majority of my gallery being cloud photography, for they need to be really amazing to have high ratings. It is a tough area because "pretty good" really isn't that good at all, and even the best receive little attention.
Try to expand your horizons and aim your camera at different things on impulse. Most of all, try to gain a perspective usually not observed by the human eye, for these are the most intruiging.
I began uploading at 1280 by 1024 pixels thinking that it was more than enough for anybody, but people still told me to uplaod at a larger resolution. If you upload at 1600 by 1200, then you will begin to get more criticism and encouragement. Keep uploading!
Hello again Cindy;
Thanks for the comments on "Sunrise - Mt. Hood" and "Foggy Mt. Rainier Sunrise from Reflection Lake". Glad ya like them. Come and visit my gallery as often as you like.
The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.

Hi Cindy, nice to meet you ! I´m glad to see you liked my delicious apples from last fall. I can ensure you they taste terrific ! It´s the harvest from two very old apple-trees at my summer cottage. The colors of the apples suits well with the colors of the wall and door, don´t you think....thanks for your comment ! (Tasteful harvest)

Hey Cindy, thanks for leaving you thoughts on my picture Series 7. The location isn't all that far from Virginia! ...you'll have to put it on your list of places to visit with your camera.
Hey Cindy, I'm glad you enjoy "Shimmering River". Thank you very much. I took a look through your uploads and like your sense of perspective. It really shows in all your work. :) ...once again, thank you.
Thank you for your comment. Much appreciated. Keep up the good work, but look into buying a better camera or computer, because I see the raw beauty of your pictures, but the refined, finer details are slightly blurred due to mediocre equipment. :P
Thanks a lot for your comment on my pic Crepeau mushrooms. It was a really good trip out there that time, later I got the pic Lilac in my gallery too. Hope you like my other works as well.
I see you've been poking through my gallery. Glad you found some things you like in there. You've got the beginnings of a nice gallery yourself. I especially like 'old memories' anytime you shoot someplace that someone long ago lived in and loved you've got my attention
A monk asked, “The mountains, the rivers, and the great earth-from where did all of these things come forth?”
Tiantai said, “From where did this question come forth?”

Cindy, thanks for your comments on Storm at Gull Rock...I'm very glad you liked this shot. Some very nice photos in your gallery, keep shooting and posting. Folks will get to know your work and you will begin to get more and more comments. I'll try to get over there this weekend when I have more time....Mike
"It is important to remember that these things, the machinery of photography are no more than a means to an end. It is easy enough - and a blind alley - to mistake those means for the end itself." - Charlie Waite
Hello there Cindy! Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a warm comment on ~the painting~. The memories are very strong from my childhood with this image & I am glad that you enjoyed it. Much appreciated :~)
