And as we wind down on the road Our shadow's taller than our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines bright light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold and if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last when all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll
"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeppelin
man when i watched finding nemo i was like whooah and then the audience was like whooah and then i was like whooaaaahhhh.... thanx for commenting on 60's are back!!!
Andy, thanks fo rthe comment on "Abigail". I can see by your portfolio that you have a definite interest in color. Your Scarab is very interesting. Thanks, andrew
Thanks for your comment Andy on Endorphinmachine X2, even though it's my first go at using Poser I soon realised that things can soon go pear shaped - literally - when your modelling a figure so your praise is greaty appreciated.
Appreciate the flattering compliment on my dogwood shot. You have a very nice gallery. By the way... You wondered why "Scarab" hadn't gotten much attention. Well, sometimes images just slip through the cracks. It is excellent work, though, and I hope you post more like it. Good luck!
Hi, I like your fractal flame work. RU using Apophysis? Our work sometimes has a similar look...by accident I assure you. I am learning from TracyJTX though.
thanks for the nice words Andy for "Tiptoe Thru the Tulips"..I truly appreciate them. Encouragement like that just keeps me truckin' on with the shutter snapping! :~)
Andy, thanks for the comment on "Orion's Belt ?" and "Blue Fringe". I guess the darkness of Blue Fringe wasn't what I thought it would be. Your input is helpful Andrew
thanks for the comments on Letting it shine and Im getting there. most of my flower pics come from my neighbors yard. they have a huge variety. of all these flowers. like half there yard are spring flowers and just come back each year. they are all beautiful flowers.
To answer a few of the questions here. The pink one is not having trouble - it has just rounded the orange mark and is in the process of raising its spinnaker, which then takes a moment to fill - possibly a bit slow, but certainle no trouble.
The shot is taken from a light plane (a Cessna 172 for those interested). My son is training to be a pilot and sets me up with one of his instructors. We take the window off and I shoot as he circles above the fleet. Over water our minimum allowed altitude is 500 feet and this is where we stay. Great fun! I have to be careful not to let the lens get into the propwash - it tends to shake around a bit!!!! The shots are taken a about f5.6 and 1/1500.
"The Faucet God" is better then "Thin Ice" or "Moment Before Impact", it makes a better desktop picture. Someone that had not seen the earlier images in the series, they would be hard pressed to know the original source of the image. :c)
Thanks for the comment on (Ready For My Closeup). I took a lot of pictures of my friend's horse as well but I had to post that one because of that expression :).
Thanks, Andy -- glad you enjoyed "Old Fishing Boat V". The boats just fascinate me, for some reason.
Also, thanks for your comments on 'Fantasy in Shades of Silver'. This particular manipulation took forever. Started out as a pic of some bottles that I found on Photo.net.
Thanks for the comments on (An Afternoon Stroll) and (Stairway To Heaven) Andy. I'm glad you enjoyed them and (Charged Up) is still getting air time on my desktop^^
hi andy.. i'm not much in those abstract-fractal-manipulation kind of thing (i prefer nature, as you can see) but i must confess that most of your works gets my attention.. i love your experimenting, whatever is that what you do.. your latest play with watheralike creations is very interesting.. ps. i also love (and kind of monitoring) your icons.
"What other reason could there be to get up in the morning except to set ourselves free."
If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
Andy, thanks for stopping & looking & commenting on "A Garden Kiss". I look forward to your encouraging comments. They are deeply appreciated. Have a great week-end! :)
Thanks for the thoughtful comment on (Magic Mirror). I thought the two were different enough that I could get away with sharing both of them. I'm glad to hear you agreed. On a separate note, I know I already left a comment on your piece (Turning Point), but I wanted to reiterate that I believe it is my favorite computer generated image of all time. I don't want to judge it in the same way as some of my photographs because it's like comparing apples and oranges but suffice it to say that every time my desktop changer brings it up I am still in awe and every time it changes to something else I am disappointed in a way. Anyway, keep up the inspiring work and thanks again for taking the time to check out my stuff as well~
Thanks Andy, as always, for your comments on my work Blue Plague and Bright Dream. Your comments are always good and point out things I need to work on. LOL. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the complimentary words on (Easy Street). It's always sad to see trees get chopped down, and I doubt that will happen here, but still I thought it would be a good idea to have some pictures of that wonderful street anyway. Glad I could bring you some nostalgia.
Andy thank you for the kind words re: "Pappy's Flowers". These flowers were actually from his funeral. The family is sad but we are all OK. Pappy was ready several years ago. He said he didn't want to leave all of us, but when it was time, he would go! Thanks again.
Thanks, Andy -- glad you liked 'Clearing Storm'. I appreciate that you noticed the texture, because that turned out to be the most difficult and time consuming aspect of the manipulation to achieve. The original is from one of those derelict fishing boat images by Tiago Estima. I've emailed it to you, along with the first step of the manipulation.
Thanks for the great comment and vote on (High Noon - Color), Andy. There is actually a (High Noon - B&W) that is identical to this shot, except for the color, and it should be uploaded shortly, so that's the one I'm really curious to get people's opinion on as compared to this one. But I'm glad you liked this one even better than the similar shot in b&w I posted the other day :)
Thanks for your comment on "False Hope" Andy. You have a lot of great images, I really need to start leaving more comments when I look at peoples images like i used to...
Thanks for the great comment on Green Plague. I really appreciate your time. This one was a lot more fun to do than Blue Plague, maybe because it is just getting easier.
Thank you for the comment on (Life In The Fast Lane) Andy. My first time lapse shot like this was well received and people asked for more so I've been meaning to take this highway shot since. Glad you liked it~
Thank you very much for taking the time to comment on all three of my (After The Rain) shots Andy. If I understood you correctly you were saying that comparing the plants to the windows was like apples and oranges and you're probably right. I guess I was just most surprised by the way the plants turned out because I just decided to take a walk with the camera when it finished raining and that's something I came back with. The window shots were very deliberate with special attention to focus and everything else so they turned out pretty much as expected :). I'm glad you liked them all, thanks again.
Thanks Andy for such a great comment on Abide. I'd have to argue with you though about the undisputed queen--I'm just a beginner. Thanks again for your time and I'm looking forward to your next post. I forgot to thank you for commenting on Abyss also. LOL I'm forgetful today.
