Image: Mt Olivet details 3 Nathaniel someone.......

This one really might not make great wallpaper, I just thought it was facinating. This six foot across tree trunk has wrapped around the headstone with age. It certainly shows the finality of the place. Though I couldn't see a date, most of the stones in this section are from the 1840s through the 60s Edit; Some have been confused into thinking that the stone is behind the tree. I didn't get enough distinction between the barks edge and the background. The stone is now part of the tree. When you walk up to it it's like a hand reaching above the waves struggling to be seen.

Kilie, you are the greatest. I really appreciate your kind words on "Final Instructions". I have several more murals to finish out the series but I am going to wait awhile longer to post them. Thank you!!! I needed to hear from a Caedes friend as I have been down about the c-index ratings on my work. I try to remember that I'm still in the learning process with digital cameras. Anyway, I'm having fun!

Hard to capture in that intense light? Your never guess what I did. I shot it with a Canon 350D. When that weird lighting showed up I put my camera setting on "Sports" because I wanted to make sure it was focused. It came out perfect. Thks for viewing.

Hello Kilie. Thank you for all those comments you left in my gallery recently. They are very much appreciated. You asked what Tawny Frogmouths sound like. They have a call similar to an owl but much deeper and repeated over and over. They fly on totally silent wings if you had one sitting on your monitor and it flew away you would hear nothing not even the wind from its wings. Here is a link to a page with a recording of a Tawny Frogmouth calling. If you are interested.

Gracious thanks for your kind words to Andalusia capture.

Just a few hours from bustling Costa del Sol, there lies another Spain that hasn’t changed in generations. There you can discover White Cities usually situated on the hills or mountain slopes with whitewashed houses, cobbled streets and Moorish castles or mysterious ruins towering over the area. We hired the car to explore some of them.

Thanks Kilie for viewing and commenting on my A Tribute image. My Father passed away in August and I've been wanting to make an image of his medals for a while now. I saw several tributes to veterans and decided to make a tribute to him. He would have been 87 on 1-29-07 if he had lived. He was a Godly Christian man and is in a better place now. I'm glad you got to view this.

Hey Kilie
Many thanks for your supportive comments and kind words on 'Decycling'!
I didn't use any artificial lighting for this one as I wanted to capture the detail in both the shadows and highlights. To enhance it, I have used HDR processing to enhance the dynamic range but I only noticed after I had uplpoading that you will see an 'artifact' of the tone mapping process in the gap of the door? I hope it doesn't detract from the image!
There is rather a lot to explore isn't there?!
Best wishes to you and your kin.
John

Thanks for commenting on Night Blooming cactus. I have a second plant like this which is much smaller. I've had it for years and for years it has produced absolutely nothing at all. All of a sudden I have, in the past few weeks had 1 flower (it's a slightly different version of the one you see on the photograph) and three other buds springing up ready to burst open. Don't give up on this plant. Ugly it is indeed but the flowers are beautiful. Thanks again for visiting.

You are so right about the Smugglers Cove photograph. It could've been so much better with a better camera. But for what it's worth it showed a pretty good image for a point and shoot throwaway camera. I would love another chance to visit some of the Greek islands again with a better camera. From the time I was twelve I've always had some type of camera (granted at that time it was a box camera). Now I'm leaning towards medium format black and white with the Mamiya 645 Pro TL. I use the Nikon D3000 for set up shoots and to get ideas on the fly. Some of those ideas have amazed me. Thanks for your kind comments. Much appreciated.

In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art. ~Rumi~

Hiya Kilie, thankyou for your comments on my Forest of Dean series especially Under Shelter. I am so pleased you like the black and white, it often doesnt go down so well on Caedes otherwise i would have done them all that way. Now you have commented and faved it im tempted to desaturate and repost! Much appreciate it!

Thanks Kilie for your comments on "Come Sit Awhile", "Mailbox", "All Legs" and "Wedding Party". Much appreciated and glad you enjoyed the photos. I think sitting in the car can be just as dangerous in those type of movies. Have a great day. ~Wendell

The difference between a bad artist and a good one is: the bad artist seems to copy a great deal; the good one really does. ~William Blake
