On a walk down to the lake yesterday I spotted this neat looking Dragonfly. I was actually trying to get a shot of a butterfly when I found this guy sitting on a leaf watching me. >> Thanks to all for comments <<
The deserts and canyons of the Southwest are pretty special to me, but Sedona is truly exceptional in it's natural beauty..but it is very expensive to live there so you are paying for all that wonderful scenery thanks Ed...I'm getting a little tired of orange but going to stick it out to the end of the Orange Contest. Then afterwards what am I supposed to do with a gallery full of orange rocks?
When the sun turns into a red giant and burns up the earth that will take care of all the stone...Thanks for looking at the last log I'm posting for a long time Ed
Thank you Ed for the nice message on "Mallard duck on a little pond (revised)",it is very nice of you.Yes,it is a bit heavy on the tones and contrast,it is a bit darker too.Have a nice week.

You wrote: "Champagne taste and a beer pocketbook. Eh! Pat. A beautiful capture of this lovely scene. I don't think I could afford the reflections in the lake much less a piece of property in that place."
You do have a way with words. Thanks for the chuckles.
Hi Ed, glad you enjoyed my Egret photo "Leaving Missouri" I was there today and they are still around along with the Herons. Thank you for the comment.

Thank you very much Ed for your very kind comments on Hanging On. I know I don't thank enough people for all the great words, but I truly do appreciate what you have to Say. Thanks again.

about Land Of Enchantment I still got plenty left from my AZ trip this summer. I just returned from Florida where I stayed in a beach front condo overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. I feel a little guilty going away so long and often and leave no comments for anyone I don't have a lap top so when I'm gone I am truly gone I wouldn't blame you if they never left another comment on any of my photo's ever again so thank you for being the nice guy you are and leaving one Ed
I just realized I have pictures of everywhere but none of the area I actually live in.
About Lake Lure I really live in the mountains of Tennessee not North Carolina but it looks the same. I do like it here with the mild four season climate and mountains, thanks for being lured into looking at Lake Lure
Ed
It's not only a nature trail but at the spur of the moment I entered it in the line contest, it was just a whim and don't expect to win, but I do love my nature trails wherever I find them...thanks Ed
Thank you for viewing the Historic Lake Lure Inn Ed. It has a wonderful view overlooking the lake and the inside is like going back in time and furnished in tasteful period pieces, it is like looking around a museum which has earned it National Historic Landmark status.
In Hawaii the temperature doesn't change much, in winter it's a little cooler around 80. Most of the tourists just hang out on Waikiki Beach and never leave Honolulu. My picture was taken on the far side of Oahu where mostly native Hawaiians live and tourist don't venture that far. Florida beaches are 10 times more crowded then any of the Hawaii beaches I go to. I hope this helps
Ed since I know you are allergic to tourists
they rent Pontoon boats at Lake Lure or they will take you on a 3 hour cruise around the lake I didn't do either since I am such a cheapskate..thanks for looking at that one exciting doc Ed
My "Totaled" really looks out of place, here are trees, flowers, lakes and then Wham there is a crumpled car, Every one rushed to that accident the police, fire, and EMS arrived with lights and sirens going. I do have a part two to the story
for later. Maybe I should be a poster girl for the importance of seatbelts. I don't know about you but when I was a kid no one wore seatbelts and the kids ran wild in the backseat and no one ever gave it a thought...Thanks for looking at my safety
tip for the day Ed
Unless you are a vegetarian I'm giving you an expert tip
Did you know that steaks out in the western states are much more tasty then ones in the mid and eastern parts...It's true every time I go out west I buy steaks and cook them on the grill they make the ones I buy here taste like shoe leather. I bought sirloin steak and cooked it outdoors on the grill...it's one of my best memories of the place..and those steaks were memorable.
Playa Hermosa in English...Beautiful Beach I'm rather partial to it myself. It is a black sand beach.
It was so cheap during rainy season I had to see Costa Rica for myself...The only mishap I was stung by a jellyfish very badly.
It rained almost all the time...the sun was out for only about 1 hour a day...thanks Ed
They do things a little different down in Costa Rica...I guess it was supposed to be a waterfall...I took one look laughed and said "That looks like a elephant peeing in the pool"
How do you like my new look Ed?
I've been going to Daytona for years, love it and still go in the water. Nobody ever writes a scary story here so thought I'd give one a try with "Ominous Sign" I fact checked everything, but did make up the sunrise "The Orange stripe of Doom" name. That's even why I had that goofy avatar to make it more real...except no one seemed very scared.
Guess I will leave the scare stories to the likes of Stephen King
Hope you enjoy my Birthday gift.....Lake Muki plus 5 years taxes all paid up. Now you can stay and play with your rusty ducks all day.
Thanks for sharing the sunrise with me from my 9th floor balcony Ed I'll make the coffee and donuts and we can sit outside...looks like pretty day at deadly Daytona Beach we can look for sharks and watch people carried away in rip tides..LOL. . I do take sunrise/sunset shots but rarely put one up
I did a whole summer road tour across Canada from the East Coast to the West, Camping out and sleeping in a tent every night plus
cooking all our meals over a propane stove and a water jug to shower. and the Canadian Rockies were my most
favorite place of the whole trip...thanks for looking at
majestic
Banff Ed!
About Early Morning on the Shore.. The beach and boats may be ready for the day but it was off season so there were no crowds and the place pretty much was nearly empty all day. But I liked it calm and peaceful just the way it was. The moon did look neat in the bright blue sky...thanks for commenting Ed
Hi Ed,
We could be on the same ship and never run into each other. On a ship I am more of a day person. I get up early, get off the ship at all the ports, swim, have dinner then go to a Las Vegas style show in the theater and then maybe take a stroll around the deck then off to bed. The casino comes in dead last for a place I hang out...LOL
Thank you Ed for the message on "Amanita Muscaria mushroom",it is really appreciated. If you are really sure what variety it is then you can pick a mushroom otherwise it is too dangerous.
Ed quit being such a cry baby, you only have to sit through 358 more desert scenes. I will have a bucket of water to pour over your alligator hide if you start to dry out and if worst comes to worse and you expire I will have you made into a Alligator handbag to give your wife so you will be near her always grin!
Well Ed you didn't like the desert so here is a beach... Homeless Car Camp wasn't what you were expecting I'm sure
Pretty gloomy eh? Oh before I leave I wil post another happy Walt Disney at Christmas pic...
Thanks for commenting, a lot a people look at this pic but few comment, I suppose it's like a car wreck you want to see what's going on then get away
Welcome To The Holidays with Donald and Daisy Ed
The whole Gazebo would be gone in 2 weeks if the fence was not there and it's got to last from Turkey Day to New Year.
Great idea just put all those cats in your truck drive over to those Disney Resorts and turn them loose to hunt these hidden Mickeys.
Since I love maps and geography I used my powers of deduction to conclude you live somewhere within a 75 miles radius of Tampa, so
you could just jump on I-4 and be at the WDW Resorts in no time. I will never get a GPS since it would ruin all my fun.
Thanks Ed for your comment on my Deer photo "Don't shoot" It was very exciting to get up that close to one in the wild. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a good weekend...Gregg

Thanks for watching the Road Town Sunrise Ed. Why don't you just throw the cats in with the duck and really mix things up...sounds like a real taste treat
Thanks Ed for commenting on my photo "Spreading my wings" When I don't have nothing new to post I always search my folders and come up with something. Glad you enjoyed it.

every day is a gift......that's why it's called the present!!
Thank you for the nice comment on my "Mocking bird" photo. There is not much sunlight where I have my bird studio set up, so I only have about an hour a day to work with.

Hi Ed,
Gee.. now that you mention it.. a truck did hit the rear end guess he just didn't see the car way down below
You know what they say the worst dent is the first dent. Oh well that's life what can you do. I am just glad I buy new cheap cars and it comes with a 5 years 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I'd have a heart attack if I owned a brand new Mercedes Convertible and it was hit. I would never have a moments peace.
Thanks for commenting and take care!
~Diane~
Thank you Ed for your kind words about Choppy Seas. What happened did every flower, plant, duck and alligator in FLA freeze to death is that why you haven't posted anything lately? Do you have photo of an orange in a grove with a coat of snow? That would be very impressive!
Glad you liked the deep red of the Indian Paint Brush Ed. I spent hours doing an indepth write up about it, I hope you found it interesting and informative...
The box jelly fish is the most dangerous and can kill people...did you know 150 people are killed a year from falling coconuts. Yep I can scare people more out of the ocean then Jaws.....smile
bet you will think twice now before you visit the beach Ed but I am just concerned about your safety
you'd really have to work at it to fall overboard. I wonder what would be worse having the ship sink or falling off? But I do hear about a few idiots that manage to each year. Would you believe I have never seen any sea life while in the middle of the ocean, no dolphins, whales, tuna fish absolutely nothing.
Glad you like those dusky colors Ed!
I appreciate your comment very much on Owd Barn. I had deleted the post so you can imagine my surprise that it is still up and I have all these comments!! Again many thanks to all you great people here on Caedes!!
every day is a gift......that's why it's called the present!!
"Broken Logs in Petrified Forest N.P" was kinda long winded filled with science so I didn't think too many people would get through it. Someone actually asked me to post one can you believe that. Expect a quiz tomorrow to test your knowledge since I know you read the whole thing Ed...smile
Glad you stopped by!
If you walk along the Maze trail just don't get lost they don't call it the maze for nothing, plus bring lots of water it really gets hot and there is no shade...
Ed just stick with your high humidty and swamp creatures a Florida boy like you wouldn't last a day in the dry desert...ha!
The Grand Floridan Hotel does such beautiful job arranging all the flowers so perfectly, they must have a professional florist there. All flowers are pretty but some I like better then others...my least favorites are begonias
Thanks for liking the Colorful Bouquet!
I don't know what kind of plant it was but liked how it was managing to survive in harsh conditions living in a tiny crack in the rock. Thanks for liking "Home Rocky Home"
Ed!
Thank you Ed for your nice comment on "Half A Boat Is Better Then No Boat" it is no prize winner I just wanted to show how narrow the end of Paradise Island is. I'd say you be a goner during a storm if you stayed put on that spit.
Been out to Lake Muki lately to make sure your favorite taffy colored duck is doing fine?
the Mysterious Objects are really water toys people play with or climb on. Can you believe the ocean is so calm with no breeze or waves at all, it looked unreal! Hopefully everyone will look at the objects and not notice the waterspot on the lens. Thanks for looking Ed!
"Dome Glacier" has two things FL doesn't glaciers or mountains. I guess you could call that area around Clermont Hill Country. The biggest hill I've seen in Florida was a landfill...no joke. But I love Florida and go there more then any other state.
Glad you got a view of Dome Glacier before nothing is left Ed Thanks for your kind words.
Diane
There are great overlooks all around Peyto Lake and plenty of big flat stones to sit on to admire the view and watch the colors change as clouds pass over and the sun moves across the sky. I'd would have liked to stay all day.. . Thanks Ed for stopping by and viewing the unique colors!
Diane
PS I will wrap up that mountain and mail it as long as you pay shipping
You better cover your ears 'Athabasca Falls" is loud, fast and strong...Oh come on Ed you can do it going over the falls in a canoe would be a piece of cake.
Thanks Ed for taking the time to comment on my Deer photo "Running away" When birds are not around I will take Deer photos anyday, when they show up like that.

Thanks for viewing the series ending with Bow Falls Ed! I have had about enough of working on those old 35mm slides for the time being
I did some freaky manipulation to hide big defects on some of the pictures. But they didn't out as well as I would have liked so I feel sort of guilty that I can't show there true wonder but only a pale shadow.
Diane
Hi Ed, It's the crazy out of state visitors I'm more afraid of they are twice as deadly as any bear. aren't you glad to see your park rangers working in this pic at least your tax dollars are being well spent at the GSMNP
I'll miss you but I will be back.
Diane
The only thing missing is a moonshine still....ha! If it's OK with the Park Service you can stay in the cabin as long as you'd like. Hope you don't mind sharing it with Jimbob he might snore.
I am thinking about posting a photo of 2 horses plowing a field next, not my usual stuff at all but what the heck maybe I will call this series Appalachian Spring.
Thanks for viewing "Apple Blossoms" Ed
Wow, looks like Marcaribe had a lot to say.lol...thanx so much for your many great comments on my photos, that means a lot to me. You live in such a beautiful state..sooooo far from me.! Thanx so much Ed..Verena
