Image: Trying to hold onto Summer

The outside cat, who lives with us, is looking for her usual sunny spot on the patio. It has moved and will not return until next Spring. Cold days are ahead for her and myself as well.

Hi Rob. WELCOME TO CAEDES. It's good to have a new member and I hope you enjoy your stay and take the opportunity to share some of your images with us.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments on "On a Clear Day". I think they were burning wheat stubble and I think the Simpson’s' would indeed be lucky to live in such a place. As you said: you keep being drawn back to this image, well I find I’m the same way about being drawn back to that particular area to photograph year after year. I live about 150 miles from the Palouse area but as you can see at times it can be very rewarding.
Thanks again for the comments and again, WELCOME.

Hi Rob - I am glad you liked Some Work Required. Thanks for taking the time to comment. It took a while for me to decide on the presentation .. but I think it worked out. That house had some really nice solid boards .. at least 18in across ..w/ forged nails. They don't come like that anymore.

Thanks - and good to hear from another ferry traveller (albeit in the past). This Ullapool grouping consisted of a fisheries prtection boat (foreground), the yacht on the right and 'my' ferry 'The Isle of Lewis' in the centre, just about to turn and back in! My journey takes about three hours - plenty of time to eat, drink and be merry!

Hi Rob, thanks for commenting again on one of my photos 'on the banks of the River Wye' - I didn't know anything about the grave myself and could not see any inscriptions. However, I looked on the net and they did a film series on TV at this location and apparently it was a child's grave and the parents lived at the farm which is just to the right of where I took the photo. That was all I discovered. thanks again for commenting. Patti

Hi again Rob, thanks for your comments on 'reflections of the past' and don't you ask a lot of questions! lol! well for a start the photograph was taken in November 2005 and not the 1960's I really do not know who the people were, but I was fascinated by the mix of old and new fashions, old and new architecture and an old and new World, Prague having been a communist country and emerging to be a free country and it was apparent everywhere that their people were expressing their freedom. It was a fascinating place to visit and one which I need to return to. I was only there three days but the atmosphere remains fresh in my memory.

Thanks for the comment on "Sleeping Beauties". I can assure you there was a barrier between them and me!It was dull and cold when my wife and I visited the zoo that day which meant that the animals stayed inside and slept.

Thanks Ted for stopping by and taking a look at “Superstition Sundown (Collaboration)”. I was in Phoenix several years ago and had to do just a little sight seeing.
