Hello Sam. That was an interesting comment you left at “Cheeky Honeyeater”. I used to live in WA too. I can’t say that I’m familiar with a Rufus Honeyeater. That’s hardly surprising though, I tend to learn about birds after a get a photo of one of them and I’m wondering what I got this time.

Hi Sam, many thanks for visiting Velvet Shanks and for your comments. I like your idea for a different composition; focussing on the fungi more. With this one I just loved the differences in colours and textures in one small area. Like a lot of subjects, you can revisit and alter the whole look and feel of the thing. It'll have to wait till next fall now - they were sacrificed for the pan, and delicious they were too;o)
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi Sam, thanks for visiting and commenting on The Last Punk Rocker. Very much appreciated. I agree, most of these hairy cattys cause nasty rashes - a few can bring on more severe reactions. Fortunately this one's bark is worse than his bite;O)
Cheers,

Reference: "In Memory Of Poodle Spider". Thks for visiting my memorial to a gorgeous spider. I agree with you that they should be left alone. They do us a service in riding our living areas of unwanted pests. May I direct you to two others captures of Poodle Spider, one of which is the highest rated posting I have..."Poodle Spider's House" (C-index of 88) and also, "Poodle Spider". She got her name from the poodle like tufts on her legs. She is of the Bannana Spider family according to the internet. Thk you for stopping by, Sam. Always nice to hear from you.

Hello, Sam! I appreciate your commenting on my image! "Twisted hearts" - here are no filters on it! I made simply a background (painting + some Photoshop"s manipulations - light, swirl etc. but no filters) and than i made the rest .I always make so- first background and after it comes an idea - what can i do with it as next:-)))
sam, i've heard you talk about the c scores many times. i still would like to watch the process of one photograph going through the scoring process from start to finish. today i uploaded a photo 'waiting for the ferry". the seagull is technically perfect. i know however it will receive a mediocre score. why? i have no idea, but i'm sure it will. i also know that if i upload people pictures they will get low scores. so, being that no one likes to get his or her toes stepped on would i do it. i do well with landscapes and flowers so i should be satisfied. i wish there were no scores, but that's just me. i'm not in "the group" that runs to vote for and download for my friends so i guess i should be happy just to enjoy seeing my photos on my computer screen. i purposely did not add this to the string on people pictures. thanks for your ear! jen
i'm so far behind that i know i'll never catch up. sorry if i don't comment on each of your pictures. . be patient!

Thanks Sam for “Young Wagtail” I heard that they will pluck human hair. My friends mum had one do that to her when she was hanging out the washing. She wasn’t amused at the time but we thought it was hilarious :-) I have often seen them chase of birds many times their own size.

hi sam, i know the lighting is not so great on the tarahumara woman the roof is in the way. should i take her out and light her up and put her back in? really do appreciate the dialogue on this subject. i was by no means trying to start something (bad). i just was looking for input on people pictures. jen

Thanks for the comment on "watching" your right about sharpness, 300mm 5.6 is a little hard to hold, and i didnt want to push the sharpening to far, ill give lightening it a try though, thanks again :-)
Thanks Sam for commenting on my picture “Monarch Migration” I had my long zoom on the camera trying to get some squirrel pictures when I photographed this Monarch. The macro setup would have been much better but it is what it is.
Hello Sam ... Appreciate your viewing Li'l Chickadee and offering an opinion. "Perfect composition", you said. What an ego boost for this old hack ... Thanks !

Hello Sam, thank you so much for stopping in to talk to me about "Colors in a Pond"! I appreciate your thoughts and comments, and any ideas, you think I may find helpful! Yes, you are right about the trimming of the tree tops, and so is your guess! I did, indeed want to include as much reflectivity as possible, as that was a special day, in every way! Conditionally, everything was just right! I would be interested Sam, in what your choices may have been! Thank you again, and I will look forward to your next visit! Sincerely, Marilyn

Thanks for the comment on Where You Trod. I'm still learning and your words are encouraging.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Hi there, thanks for commenting on the fantasy painting! The picture is painted on canvas, so it has a texture, but i did add a canvas texture after it as it takes some of the glare off from when u take the photograph, and you cant see the texture of the canvas too well on a photograph anyway!! glad you liked the pic! its lost alot of detail from being so reduced in size

I wanted to return the wonderful comment you made with another, but after seeing your gallery I realized it would be a task figuring out which of your images I liked best. You are a very talented and helpful individual. Take care and I look foward to see what you can bring to us in the future.

Thank you for commenting on 'Untitled', with a lily and a leaf. It has been a while since I have wielded a camera so I am having to get a feel for things I already know. I do have to say it is like riding a bike, you never forget the basics. And I had forgotten how comfertable I am behind a lens. Anyways thank you for your encouragement.

Belated birthday greetings, Mr. Atar, wherever you are...just wanted you to know that apart from my poetic writings to you, I do plan on making a birthday gift for you but purposely postponed it after reading somewhere that you would be away, possibly to avoid just that, lol...you cannot escape these things...one day when you least expect it, there it will be, sticking out like a sore thumb with your name on it, hehe...meantime, hope you had a great birthday and are enjoying your vacation.:Pat.
Due to the recent slow down of the site, my comments and thank you's have been few as it was very time-consuming...will catch up ASAP...meanwhile, a group thank you to all and keep up the great work everyone.
Thanks Sam.
I actually forgot I deleted the Older "Lost". Appreciate your nice words.
You BTW, have a most incredible gallery! After some years of "self retirement", I've started to get back a bit, into my old first love of Photography. You work is definately an inspiration. :-)
I appreciate the kind words on this. You're actually correct, it would look better if say a planet was added in the background. I'll see what I can do and see how it turns out.
Hi Sam, thanks so much for your lovely comments for " Ruby Drop" not sure that I mirrored it, think I used a plug in for a lot of the fancy stuff, maybe that mirrored it :) Glad you like it anyway..

Hello Sam,
Thanks for your feedback on "Little Garden Acrobat",I appreciate it :) and I agree with you that the detail could have been a bit better, especially around the head of the ladybug...
Have a good evening,

If you can't find the words, you may as well shoot it...
G'day Sam,
Thanks for dropping by Fresh Linen and for offering your advice. On this occasion I'll pass on it as the light levels are exactly as I wanted them, that's why the photo was taken at dusk. :) Everyone else seems to want it brighter so I guess that makes me the weirdo here.

Thanks sam for commenting on "Waterfront Patterns". It was a sight that grabbed me immediately as soon as I saw the little red ship sail in front of the red building. I also agree about the quality but you have to realise my compact Fuji F31 only has x3 zoom and I was on the other side of The River Mersey, which at that point is three-quarters to a mile wide. But I'm glad you liked the composition.

TY Sam for the comment on Symmetry. I completely agree with you on both points about the door, was looking through the trash and this was the best shot of it i took !
WOW! It's a great honour to receive a comment from a consul "in carne ed ossa"!! Many thanks Sam for your kind comment on "Pisa". Your point re the framing of the shot is well taken!
Re the first part of your comment, I was flabbergasted when I first learned that even DURING the building process of this tower, the builders KNEW that it would be leaning!! Did they take their chances anyway? Did they know that it would lean but not collapse? Did they mean to generate a hefty source of income for the later-to-be-Italy?! Who knows!
Hey Sam,
Thanks for your very kind words on "The BallRoom", I do appreciate them lots,
I have tried cloning before (I use The Gimp), but with little luck, I've not managed to do any complex manupilations yet,
I do agree on the timeless aspect though, it would be better without those two,
Thanks for stopping by
Best regards

Thanks for the taking the time to comment on, The Texas State Capital. I apologize for the long winded narrative, but there is too much to leave any out. It is much appreciated and stuff.
Thank you for the very precise comment, but I have to confess, when I took these photos I was just in a hurry to shoot, because I had just 5-6 seconds, the gull flew down and flew away. The title is waiting, but this beauty was just waiting for me to take the picture. I was not thinking about the focus, horizon...... And frankly, I like more natural things, I don't like modifying them too much.
